چکیده

Balancing of different dimensions development—economic, environmental, social, is an imperative policies and strategies sustainable growth, which are practiced today in the EU globally. The main aim our paper to investigate relationship between renewable (REC) non-renewable energy consumption (NREC), greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions share ICT total exports, on one hand, GDP p.c. other. We created a model for countries divided two groups—old new members, by using PMG ARDL models. Considering size structure sample countries, selected variables relevant period (2000–2020), certain extent, we filled research gap existing literature. Our results indicate that 1% increase REC exports leads growth long run 0.151% 0.168% old i.e., 0.067% 0.039% respectively. Contrary, NREC has significant negative impact run, both groups, leading decrease economic 0.512% 1.306% group. find GHG was accompanied 0.939%, while insignificant run. conclude with final remarks policy implications.

Does Renewable Energy Drive Sustainable Economic Growth? Multivariate Panel Data Evidence for EU-28 Countries

Energy is crucial to economic progress, but the contemporary worldwide population increase that demands greater energy generated from conventional exhaustible resources, an energy price upsurge, and environmental concerns, imperils sustainable economic growth. Nevertheless, switching to renewable energy produced from naturally replenished resources promotes energy security, likewise addressing ...

Renewable Energy Consumption, Economic Growth and Co2 Emissions: Evidence from Selected Mena Countries

This paper uses panel cointegration techniques to examine the causal relationship between renewable energy consumption, economic growth and CO2 emissions for a group of 12 MENA countries covering the annual period 1975-2008. The Granger-causality results indicate that there is no causal relationship between these variables in short run except a unidirectional causality running from renewable en...

Investigating the effect of renewable and non-renewable energy consumption on social welfare in developing Asian countries: Quantile regression approach

Energy as one of the factors of production along with labor and capital has an important role in development and social welfare. Due to the pollution of non-renewable resources and its negative impact on welfare, the use of renewable resources can improve social welfare by eliminating pollutants. In this study, the effect of renewable and non-renewable energy consumption on social welfare of de...

Economic Growth and Renewable Energy in Iran

Energy plays an active role in sustainable development in Iran, both in the sustainable and the development aspects. This study aims to estimate the nexus of economic growth and the renewable energy in Iran during 1981-2012. We employ the Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model to estimate a log-linear equation. The results suggest that renewable energy consumption is an insignificant driv...

Economic growth and energy consumption: New evidence using continuous wavelet

This study examines the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth in the Iranian economy. To that end, a wavelet transformation technique is used, which allows us to combine the time domain and frequency domain characteristics of two time series together. Using this approach and data for the period 1991:2 – 2017:1, this study tries to overcome the shortcomings of  standard eco...
